Google Ads management for a handyman business
Handyman search ads live or die on ticket size. At a $275 average job you cannot pay what a plumber pays for a call, so the account has to be built narrow: exact and phrase match only, tight ad groups by job type, ads scheduled to the hours you answer.
The terms that pay are the ones a homeowner can name. Drywall repair, door will not close, rotted fascia, deck board replacement, grab bar installation, TV mounting. In most metros those run $20 to $70 per call. Broad "handyman near me" traffic runs $2 to $6 a click and delivers $40 bulb changes across town.
The mistake most owners make is leaving broad match on and letting Performance Max eat the budget. Two weeks in, working looks like 12 to 25 calls, a search terms report you can read without wincing, and a booked job costing under a third of the ticket. The Google Ads guide has the full build.
